SUPPORT PROJECT TO LOCAL IRRIGATION ("PAPIL")

The sectoral objective of the project aims at strengthening the food safety by developing local irrigation. The specific objective is to increase the agricultural production on a sustainable basis.
The project aims at enhancing the water outflows by building small hydro-agricultural planning of different types initiated by the inhabitants et strengthening the safety of livestock and agriculture production. The actions of planning are developed in priority in phase with the local planning designed with the rural communities.
They are full part of the decentralization process associating at each stage the local communities. The main components of the project are:
- Sustainable hydro-agricultural and livestock planning (it concerns the main infrastructures: hydro-agricultural and livestock infrastructures, infrastructures to open up the region and actions to protect the environment),
- Strengthening capacities (including the support to the producers and local communities which may allow them to manage in a sustainable way the infrastructures. It includes 3 sub components : support to the decentralization, support to the local organizations and accompanying  measures)
- Project management (the project is implemented under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Hydraulics
