PCDA COMPONENT 2 – IMPROVING TRADE PERFORMANCE OF AGRICULTURAL SECTORS
The objective of the PCDA component II is the increase and diversification of income and economic opportunities in rural areas, through improvements in the organization and performance of the supply chains (from production to marketing) of agricultural sectors, livestock and commercial fisheries for which Mali has a comparative advantage confirmed.
Component II aims to contribute to the removal of critical constraints (bottle-necks) to the development of value chains of a number of agricultural marketing channels for which Mali has a comparative advantage and market opportunities confirmed (mango, shallots, papaya, potatoes, livestock/meat, fisheries). The PCDA tries to promote commercial agriculture as an alternative to subsistence agriculture. It aims to improve the competitiveness of agriculture and fisheries through targeted investment to remove bottlenecks in the value chain in order to improve productivity, efficiency, organizational and institutional capacity. In addition it implements the establishment of a commercial and HACCP certification ensures for products intended for export to the European Union by the certification of laboratories and the creation of an origin “MALI” quality label
