DEVELOPMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK (ESMF) FOR THE SMALLHOLDER TREE CROP REVITALIZATION SUPPORT PROJECT (STCRSP)

The purpose and objectives of the assignment are to develop an environmental and social management framework (ESMF) aimed at ensuring that adverse environmental and social impacts of the Project will be avoided or, where unavoidable, will be mitigated or offset, in response to the five World Bank safeguards policies triggered by the proposed project, namely OP 4.01 Environmental Assessment, OP 4.04 Natural Habitat, OP 4.09 Pest Management, OP 4.12 Involuntary Resettlement and OP 4.36 Forests. It is not expected that project activities will lead to involuntary resettlement. However, in the unlikely event that this may happen, a Resettlement Policy Framework will be prepared under a separate consultancy (Social Assessment), which was also carried out by AGRER.
