This programme aims the following purposes:
• Sectorial objective : contribute to the safeguard, under a participative and sustainable basis, of water and ground resources of the Niger River Basin;
• Objective of the programme: contribute to stop the silting up process of the Niger River, unfavourable to the agricultural production.
The programme includes 3 components :
o Component A : Master plan study of the protection against hydrous erosion and sand bar fight in the Niger River Basin;
o Component B : ABN institutional strengthening at a regional and national level;
o Component C: Actions for the protection and fight against silting up in 3 countries (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger)
