PROVISION OF EXPERTS FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SUGAR OBSERVATORY

The program is more specifically part of the accompanying measures in favour of the Sugar Protocol countries (MAPS) impacted by the European reform of the sugar market regime and the consequent free access to the market for all ACP countries signatories of the Economic and Partnership Agreement from 1 October 2015 and thus the enlargement of the market to the Least Developed Countries.
The sugar sector in the Republic of Ivory Coast (RIC) have seen some improvements during the past 5 years thanks to the implementation of a strategy for revitalizing the sector particularly due to the investments of 2 sugar companies SUCAF and SUCRIVOIRE in their production tools that had become outdated after having suffered during the decade of crisis suffered by the country when the sugar farming areas stayed out of governmental control.
