INNOVATION AND DIFFUSION OF IRRIGATION AND TRANSFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND TECHNIQUES - INTERPROFESIONAL COORDINATION FOR SEGOU AREA

The Malian Government, through Agricultural Ministry, encourages in the framework of his political letter, the promotion of diversification and high added value of agricultural supply chains. This promotion is considered as a tool to improve employment and incomes and consequently as a main tool to fight against poverty.
PCDA (Agricultural Competitiveness and Diversification Programme) aims at: (i) improving contribution from the rural development sector to the economical growth of the country, (ii) intensifying and diversifying agricultural production, in order to reinforce food security and to develop agricultural exportation, (iii) improving incomes and living conditions for rural population.
PCDA focuses on increase and diversification of agricultural production, empowerment all stakeholders of the sector, access to credit facilities and development of basic equipments.
Growth and diversification of incomes and economic opportunities in rural areas are the main objectives of PCDA. It will be reached through improvement of organization and efficiency of commercial supply chains (from production to market) in agricultural, breeding and fishery sectors for which Mali has a confirmed comparative advantage.
