THE EFFECTS OF EUROPEAN DEVELOPMENT FUNDS (EDF) ON COTTON FARMING SYSTEMS: THE CASE OF IVORY COAST

The study aims at providing data to the EU in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its supports to the Ivorian cotton sector and strengthening the impact on poverty alleviation in cotton rural areas. This also involves developing appropriate policy recommendations and support programs to help farmers - or different categories of farmers - benefit more from cotton cultivation, or allow them in some cases to switch to more profitable crops and diversify their cropping systems.
