Mid Term review of the Administrative Arrangement JRC-DEVCO “Technical and scientific support to food security information for decision-making in Sub-Saharan Africa”

The Administrative Arrangement (AA) has been signed by DG DEVCO and the Joint Research Center (JRC) in October 2009.

The 5 year program of this AA was designed to contribute to the improvement of food security information Systems in the Sub Saharan Africa, with a specific focus on the Horn of Africa (Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda).

The specific objectives of the AA are to provide technical and scientific contribution to the programme on linking information and decision-making to improve food security response strategies with main focus on the Sub-Saharan Africa.

The specific objective of the present Mid-Term Evaluation (MTE) are the following:

- Assess the general progress and achievements from the first 2,5 years of the Administrative Arrangement (AA);
-  Identify the possible readjustments / prioritisation activities what needs to be made in the activities and components of the current Programme to ensure its good execution ;
-  Identify the possible corrective actions to be formalised by an amendment to the AA, in case of necessary re-allocation between the budgetary items, or extension of the duration of the program
