In conformity with the EU-Africa partnership on cotton, the support project to the cotton sector in Benin aimed at globally improving the competitiveness of the sector and therefore contributing to reduce poverty by supporting a strong economic growth leading to the increase of income and the creation of jobs.

Specific aims of the project:

- strengthen the capacity of the state to act efficiently as a regulator in a liberalized environment
- support the completion of the sector reform process

The general aim of the mission is to support the Benin government  (through the EDF National Authorizing Officer NAO) and the European Union Delegation (EUD) in the ex post evaluation  of the support project to the cotton sector in Benin.

There are two specific aims:

2. Overview of the sector
